Where it started
Growing up, Troy's father and his nine brothers were all partners in the same construction company at the same time. One of their celebrated accomplishments is the MacMillan Bloedel Conservatory, still a beautiful building today. Troy learned very early what it takes to build well.
Troy Van Vliet, Principal
Troy's love of design and building started at an early age, working for his father's construction company. Very much a hands-on builder, he worked on many residential and commercial projects, with a love for geometry, drafting and art. He played football at UBC on a scholarship and was drafted by the BC Lions, then came back to building.
He has built dream homes in Shaughnessy, Kitsilano and South Granville, working in tandem with architects, designers and technical consultants, and has always surrounded himself with good people.
Homes that fit their neighbourhood
Tavan Group has specialized in building homes that truly fit in the neighbourhoods in which they build. The homes are not only beautiful and functional, they evoke the inherent charm of the neighbourhood in times past.
Whether it is a clean-lined, contemporary home or bringing the grandeur of a 1920s home into the 21st century, design and construction still ignite the passion in the Tavan team.
We love building beautiful homes, but that love is more than skin-deep. Beauty has to have a solid foundation.
Every cubic inch of space is considered in our planning and design, so each floor is completed to its fullest potential.
We build homes that truly fit the neighbourhood they stand in: the new house belongs on its block from the day it is finished.
The people who build your home.
